What to look for when buying a student's instrument.
Buying your first instrument
Many students worry about investing in an instrument, so we would like to tell you a little about
what to look for in an instrument.
Generally you get what you pay for in an instrument. When you look at a flute
it might look complicated, and it is, so there is no reason to skimp, because certain things
may cost you more in the end. Inexpensive instruments are generally harder for beginners to get
a good sound on, mainly because of poor craftsmanship. A good player in a store may be able to
show you what an instrument is capable of, but beginners usually have many hurdles to jump before
they can play well. One of the major obstacles on any instrument is the ease an instrument plays with.
Any professional will tell you that the two most important features of an instrument are playability
and sound quality, with playability generally holding more weight. Come in and
talk to the staff about deals on purchase.
